Architects Without Frontiers – Nepal Trip 2016/2017

For the eleventh consecutive year, Architects Without Frontiers and Aussie Action Abroad offer Architects, Architecture Students and all related construction & design professionals and students an opportunity to travel to Nepal, contribute to the rural Nepali communities through community development projects and continue with post earthquake re-construction.

This year, for the first time, we are now offering a mid year trip in addition to the end of year trip, the dates being : 25 June – 8 July.

A basic outline of the end of year trip is as follows, dates being 28 Dec – 24 Jan :

2-3 Days intro in Kathmandu, visit 2 historical sites
1 day travel to Gorkha or Lamjung
14 Days working alongside local tradesmen constructing a facility for a small village.
5 Day trek (TBC)
1 Day rest
1 Day travel to Bhaktapur – world heritage listed city
3 Days in Bhaktapur – world heritage listed city
Travel to Kathmandu
Last few days in Kathmandu – visiting Palace & Durbar Square, shopping etc

As with previous years Nepali Architecture students will join us on the construction phase of the trip, continuing our close ties with Nepal Engineering college.
