About this event:

A selection of inspiring leaders and thinkers are soon to take to the stage for 2021’s Auckland iteration of global speaking event TEDx.

The event, which is expected to amass more than 2000 guests, will showcase 15 speakers at Mount Eden’s LIFE Central church on May 22.

The selection includes Making Everything Achievable (MEA) founder Kaye-Maree Dunn, architect Matt Liggins, physicist and co-founder of Quid Inc Sean Gourley and Mangarara Station owner Greg Hart.

Other guest speakers are still to be revealed.

Speakers will share how they plan to reshape the world for the better.

“We’re putting optimism centre stage,” event organiser Elliott Blade said.

“This event has proven its ability to give a platform to new ideas that go on to be applied in real terms with extraordinary outcomes, the difference this time is the world will be watching.”

TEDxAuckland will be live-streamed globally.

“This is an extraordinary opportunity for us to share, not only with our audience but the world, the kind of people and their thinking that has made New Zealand what it is today as well as the exciting prospect of what it can be tomorrow,” Blade said.

Previous years have seen the likes of microbiologist Siouxsie Wiles and nanotechnologist and educator Dr Michelle Dickinson (also known as Nanogirl) in attendance.
